Danske Spil Reports DKK2.55 Billion In Gross Gaming Revenue

Steady Growth Fueled By Lottery Success And Product Enhancements

Danske Spil has announced its financial results for the first half of 2024. The company’s gross gaming revenue reached DKK2.55 billion ($379.30 million), marking a 3% increase year-on-year, while profit after tax rose by DKK85 million to DKK1 billion.

Key drivers of this growth include substantial lottery jackpots, particularly in the Eurojackpot, and a successful product update for Lotto from the previous year. Despite a minor drop in revenue from Danish License Games, the Euro 2024 boosted interest in Oddset’s offerings.

While Danish License Games experienced a revenue decline, Danish Lottery Games, The Danish Class Lottery, and Elite Gaming all saw revenue increases. Danske Spil also sold its stake in Swush earlier in the year.

The company maintains its annual forecast, expecting gross gaming revenue to be between DKK5 billion and DKK5.2 billion, and profit after tax between DKK1.8 billion and DKK1.9 billion.

Peter Christensen, Chairman of the Board, expressed satisfaction with the results, highlighting the dual achievement of increased revenue and a continued focus on promoting responsible gambling. CEO Nikolas Lyhne-Knudsen also noted the success of their lotteries and a historic Eurojackpot win of DKK760 million in June, underscoring their commitment to community benefits and safe gaming practices.
